Emergency aid is a one-time financial support awarded to students in case of a temporary difficult life situation, e.g. death of a family member, serious illness, natural disaster (fire, flood), theft, or childbirth.
A temporary difficult life situation includes cases such as:
- death of a family member,
- serious illness of the student or family member,
- natural disaster (fire, flood),
- theft,
- childbirth (by a student mother or father),
- other unforeseen events causing hardship.
To receive emergency aid, submit an application to the Benefits Service Section with documents confirming the event, e.g.:
- death certificate,
- birth certificate,
- medical certificate,
- invoices or bills proving incurred costs,
- other documents confirming hardship.
The amount of aid at Lodz University of Technology ranges from 100 PLN to 4000 PLN. The exact amount depends on the event:
- 4000 PLN - in case of death of a family member,
- 3000 PLN - in case of childbirth,
- other cases - amount determined individually.
Emergency aid can be received max twice per academic year, but not for the same reason (unless special regulations apply).
Applications must be submitted within six months of the event that justifies the aid.
The amount is determined individually based on submitted documents. The decision is made by the Rector or Scholarship Commission, considering the nature of the event, incurred costs, and sometimes the household income.
Yes. If both parents are students, each of them is entitled to receive aid. In case of multiple births, aid is granted per child.
