Emergency aid is a one-time form of financial support granted to students who have found themselves temporarily in a difficult life situation, e.g. in the event of the death of a family member, serious illness, natural disaster (fire, flood), theft or the birth of a child.
A temporary difficult life situation occurs, among others, in the event of:
- the death of a member of the student's family,
- serious illness of the student or a family member,
- a natural disaster (e.g. fire, flood),
- theft,
- the birth of a child to a female student or the birth of a child whose father is a student,
- other random events resulting in a difficult situation.
Submit an application to the Benefits Service Section together with documents confirming the event, e.g.:
- death certificate,
- birth certificate,
- medical certificate,
- invoices issued in your name documenting the expenses incurred,
- other documents confirming the difficult situation.
Emergency aid at Lodz University of Technology ranges from 100 PLN to 4000 PLN. The maximum amount depends on the type of event:
- 4000 PLN in the event of the death of a member of the student's family,
- 3000 PLN in the event of the birth of a child to a female student or the birth of a child whose father is a student,
- other cases: amount determined individually.
Emergency aid can be received a maximum of twice per academic year, but not twice for the same reason (unless specific regulations provide otherwise).
The application for emergency aid must be submitted within six months of the event on which it is based.
The amount of emergency aid is determined individually, based on the documented and confirmed costs related to the event. The decision is made by the Rector or the Scholarship Committee, which in individual cases may also take into account the income per member of the student's family.
Yes. If both parents are students, each of them is entitled to emergency aid. In the case of the birth of more than one child, emergency aid is granted for each child.
