The rector’s scholarship may be awarded to students who achieve outstanding academic results, have scientific or artistic achievements, or sports achievements at least at the national level. Only students with full registration for the academic year may apply (exceptions are defined in the Benefits Regulations).
The scholarship may be awarded to:
- First-year bachelor students (the year they passed their final exams), if they are winners/finalists of national olympiads (under the education law) or current medalists of the Polish Championships in a given sport,
- First semester master’s students - based on achievements and results from bachelor studies,
- From 3rd semester of bachelor and from 2nd semester of master - based on results and GPA from the previous semester.
Applications are submitted only within designated deadlines via the WebDziekanat system, then a printed copy with attachments is submitted to the Benefits Service Section. Deadlines for academic year 2025/26:
- Winter semester:
20 do 26 października 2025 - master’s first semester students,
29 września do 5 października 2025 - other students, - Summer semester:
16 do 22 marca 2026 - master’s first semester students,
7 do 13 marca 2026 - other students.
Scholarships are awarded within ranking groups, created according to study program, study mode, and organizational unit. A maximum of 10% of the best students in each program may receive the scholarship, provided they obtain at least 75 ranking points (according to the Vice-Rector’s communication).
The procedure is competitive, therefore all documents and information must be submitted in the first stage. Late applications are not considered.

Points are awarded for: scholarship GPA and achievements (scientific, artistic, sports) classified as outstanding, excellent, very good, or good (details in the regulations). Each achievement must be confirmed by an official document issued by the competent authority and numbered consistently with the application.
It is a weighted average of grades from the last semester of compulsory subjects (weights = ECTS). Not included: grades from advanced subjects or backlog courses. For 1st semester master’s students - weighted GPA from the entire bachelor’s program (if no ECTS - arithmetic mean, excluding pass/fail subjects).
For bachelor’s students from 2nd year and all master’s students:
For first-year bachelor students (olympiad winners, sports medalists):
- 900 PLN/month - base amount,
- +500 PLN/month - increase for the two best students in the program (minimum 150 pts).
For first-year bachelor students (olympiad winners, sports medalists):
- 1400 PLN - if the olympiad matches PŁ programs (STEM, technical, social sciences),
- 900 PLN - for other olympiads,
- 900 PLN - for medalists of the Polish Championships in a given sport.
The condition is full registration, but exceptions are provided, e.g.:
- missing PE credits only due to illness/medical exemption - PE not included in GPA,
- conditional registration with outstanding achievements - only achievement points count,
- curriculum differences after program change (with dean’s approval),
- studies within LA/TA/MOSTECH - condition is maintaining student status (details in the regulations).
The first payment is made the month after the application submission and includes arrears for the previous month (e.g. application in October - payment in November covers October as well).
Yes. The GPA from the last semester and full registration at the previous program are considered. If the change occurred after scholarships were awarded, it may be granted only if the quota is not exhausted. If in the previous semester you couldn’t register fully due to curriculum differences (confirmed by the dean), the scholarship may be awarded based on GPA after that semester.
During studies abroad you may apply each semester based on GPA and achievements from the semester before departure. In the first semester after return, the same GPA and achievements are considered. You participate in the same ranking as other students; applications are submitted within the regular deadlines.
The Rector may decide between two variants:
- Variant I (single stage): scholarships awarded to 10% best students in ranking groups,
- Variant II (two-stage): in the first stage - 8% of best students, and additional 2% after appeals.
