Social scholarships may be awarded to students in a difficult financial situation, i.e. when the household income per family member does not exceed 1908,90 PLN net per month. The minimum amount of the social scholarship is 600 PLN, and the maximum is 2059 PLN. The amount is rounded to the nearest PLN.
Students living in Łódź for study purposes may receive an increased social scholarship due to accommodation in a Student Dormitory or other facility. Students participating in the ERASMUS+ or MOSTECH program may also apply for an increase.
If a student does not run a common household with any parent, legal or actual guardian AND meets one of the following conditions:
- is over 26 years old,
- is married,
- has dependent children,
- is of legal age,
- was in foster care,
The final income per family member will only be determined after submitting the social scholarship application and calculation by the Benefits Service Section.
Students unsure whether their income will exceed 823 PLN should provide a certificate from the local Social Welfare Center when applying.
Students unsure whether their income will exceed 823 PLN should provide a certificate from the local Social Welfare Center when applying.
Applications may be submitted throughout the entire academic year at the Benefits Service Section. A list of required documents will be generated using the PoliSocjal document list generator.
To calculate the social scholarship we need the net household income per family member. This income is calculated as follows (simplified, may vary depending on the case):
- For taxable income: Income shown on the Tax Office certificate is reduced by tax and social contributions from the same certificate, and by health insurance contributions confirmed by ZUS. The resulting net income is then divided by the number of months it was received (employment, pensions, etc.) or by 12 months (e.g. sale of shares, inheritance).
- For non-taxable income: For farmland, income is calculated by multiplying the number of conversion hectares from the Municipality certificate/payment order by the rate per hectare announced by the Central Statistical Office for the given academic year. This amount is divided by 12 months. For alimony, the total enforced alimony is summed and divided by 12 months.
